Swiss Mono WordPress Theme

Knowing that a red background would only be suitable for the more adventurous of bloggers, I thought I should go ahead and offer a more traditional version for you.

So, between finishing another design (look out for it in 7-10 days hopefully), I fixed up the Swiss theme to give you Swiss Mono.

It’s exactly the same as Swiss, only with the necessary image and CSS mods.

Basic features

  • Designed to strict horizontal grid and layout
  • Widgetized sidebar
  • 125×125 sidebar advertisement support
  • Theme options to add site stats code (like Analytics) without tampering with theme files
  • Page templates: Archives, Contact, and Links
  • 100% Valid XHTML and CSS
  • Supports all common browsers

Changelog

25 April, 09 - Version 1.1 released. Some issues in Safari, caused by trying to get it to play nice in IE6. Resolved. Also, some styling changes made to the comments section.

    Congratulations on the new project, Armen!

    In my case, I love the high quality & fantastic support I get from my premium WordPress provider.

    Still, a free theme is a wonderful way to start for people on a tight budget or a great way to learn the ropes with WordPress.

    A suggestion: check the Woo Themes guys if you like. If you download one of their free templates, you’ll get extra ideas & inspiration about expanded dashboard functionality, design, and optimization you can build into your themes: http://www.woothemes.com/category/themes/

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Woo Themes, DIY Themes, Elegant Themes, et al. clearly serve a purpose, and we’re not even trying to ‘compete’.

    However, as time progresses, you might be surprised with what will be offered here. ‘Expanded dashboard functionality’ will be appearing here in some of our themes.
